1. Introduction

We have seen in other sections how computer networks function and how messages can be transmitted from one computer to another.

One other factor we need to discuss is the relationship of computers within a network.

There are two main types of relationship:

  • Client/Server
  • Peer-to-Peer

Both structures still follow the same rules of networks that we've discussed elsewhere. The difference is in how information is stored and how it is accessed.
