Bulletin Board

A bulletin board is a place where messages can be posted, read and replied to, about virtually every subject you can think of.

The messages are stored in order of the date they were posted and all of the previous replies are shown as a hierarchy within the message title.

Bulletin boards have more or less been superceded by forums.

Now there are social media services that offer a whole community of forums, each dedicated to a specific topic. For example Reddit is a vast repository of forums. Instead of posts appearing in date-order, users can vote posts up or down.
